Maestro 1935-2007

I don’t remember exactly when I fell in love with opera.  I do remember putting my foot down when my brothers complained about my weekend opera ritual.  I had to put up with watching every sport imagineable, all year round, all the time – and I believe I acquiesced gracefully enough 🙂

And when I think of opera I think of the maestro Luciano Pavarotti.  Pavarotti was so much fun to watch.  Not only did he live up to every stereotype of what an opera singer is supposed to be, he had a beautiful voice.  His voice would literally give me goosebumps when I listened to him.  He also made opera accessible to us plebians – and for that I will always be grateful.

    When I was a little girl, I remember the 3 Tenors. I think that it was because of Sesame Street. His voice was powerful and undeniable. I am by no means that familiar with Opera, but almost everyone knows about him and beautiful his voice.

    He was on Sesame Street wasn’t he? I totally forgot about that!
    Talk about taking it to the masses 🙂
